The engine in this car was built by “Shine Automotive” in Thirsk Yorkshire who race KA’s on the track, they have a popular YouTube channel and this exact engine can be seen being built on one of their many video uploads. This engine was stripped right down and the compression lowered to accommodate the K04 Turbo, all the gaskets were replaced, the cylinder head was ported and polished, with custom manifold made. It is setup on low bar for safe daily driving at around 130bhp – but could EASILY produce more if you wanted, 130bhp in this small car is absolutely ample it makes it very fun to drive and most importantly “RELIABLE”

The shell is a 45,000 mile shell with low owners, it is nice and solid around the fuel cap, it has been welded a few times over the years to a good standard and is currently very solid and passed its MOT recently without issue, I’ve had a good handful of MK:1 KA’s over the years and this is a good shell. Cosmetically it is very nice but not perfect there are some slight age related marks with age and use, it presents well and polishes up nicely.

Mechanically the car is fantastic, the engine has done very little miles since it was built, this is only a weekend toy, and is only driven to shows and maybe used once in the week if the weather is nice, it could be used as a daily car but I have a car I use daily and wanted to keep the miles down on this. Good suspension being Bilstein and excellent brakes, no knocks or bangs or unwanted noises from the chassis.

This turbo conversion is “VERY SIMPLE” really, it uses a KA sport engine with compression lowered, custom manifold for the K04 Turbo, manual fuel pressure regulator, oil feed to the turbo, and a front mount intercooler, so it’s super easy to maintain even for someone with little knowledge on the tools. There has been no complicated fabrication for engine mounts or chassis alterations, this engine would have been in this car from factory, just stripped and rebuilt to accommodate the turbo conversion.

If your looking for something different and cool this may be the car for you, you certainly don’t see many Ford KA’s like this, this is always very well received both out on the road and at local classic car shows, people are instantly attracted to this car and even more excited when they see under the hood.

Full logbook is present with 1 key, no history present but this is a completely custom built car so the history wouldn’t really mean too much.
