Mk1 MX-5 1.6 115bhp

I have decided my MX-5 needs a better home as I just don’t use it. If you check back on the MOT history you will see the only milage it does seems to be to and from the MOT station and then maybe 1 quick drive each year so it really needs to be used. I run a bodyshop and this was going to be a show car for us at one point but we changed direction and never did any shows. It has had various bodywork modifications as you can see.

Please note as this is an import the ODO clocks up in KM not miles. I tell the MOT place this every year and they get it wrong every time so the 193309 miles showing on the MOT is in fact KM, so the milage is around 119k. Lat time the MOT station managed to get this right was 2011! as can be seen in the MOT history on .gov site.

Speedo is in MPH as normal.

A few bits to note:

Got rid of the swage line that normally runs through the sides half way up the door.
Nice side skirts, smoothed into the rear quarter and front wings.
It had new sills and rear arches and sill end plates welded in under the bodykit when we did the bodywork
Underbody fully undersealed
Aftermarket very nice front bumper
Full stainless exhaust system from mx-5 parts
16″ alloys in good condition with Yokohama tyres
Mohair roof in good condition
Black Style bar
Dynamat under all carpets
LED indicators smoked
I do have some aftermarket headlights that I will either put on or include in the sale
Camaro Synergy Green one off full respray including under carpets. Was fully stripped down to a rolling shell with an engine. Engine bay never got painted as we never removed the engine so is original colour.

Dash swapped for a MK2.5 dash and centre console to give the car a much more modern feel.

Engine, suspension, brakes etc

As this is a Japanese import the engine is the good 1.6l 115bhp not the underpowered 90bhp UK spec
New spark plugs
Just had oil and filter
New Mazda gold coolant
Red silicone hoses – I have a brand new set of lime green ones which will come with the sale
I also have a black powdercoated rocker cover that will come with the car. The intention was to take the engine out, paint engine bay gree and engine all black and green but never got around to it.

Generally very clean and good engine, runs very nicely
Brakes have had a full overhaul and callipers now painted yellow (I will photograph this week as the photos attached are from before they were painted)
